No change for a change

I think it's a tough time to be a client. Business environment aside, it seems the more that technology changes things, the more it relies on them being able to do just about everything themselves.

Brand or Bland?

I was going through some of our archives this week, and came across a tongue-in-cheek ad we wrote some years ago. Won more than a few awards with it, including a Summit International for copy writing.

Did you know the earth weighs 5.9742 x10(24th) kg? How about that the diameter of the observable universe is 93,000,000,000 light years? Big numbers to be sure, and they never fail to make me feel small.

It never ceases to amaze me how certain industries place such a high value on working with a communications partner that "specializes" in their industry.

I wanna be a Guru

After much consideration and personal reflection, I have decided to become a guru (Guru?). From what I can see, it takes remarkably little effort to actually become a guru nowadays (compared to the time and patience required to become a certified electrician or small appliance repair professional), and time is money, right?

On the outside looking in.

Earlier in the week I decided to go grocery shopping, list in hand I quickly walked through the doors hoping to beat the after work rush. But then something strange happened. The second set of doors didn't open. I stood there, staring at this barrier that was preventing me from my task, unsure of my next move. My brain reeled. Were they closed? Not possible, it's only 530! Besides, I could see people happily shopping away, there was a whole world happening on the other side of that glass and for a split second I didn't know how to get in! And then it hit me. I've grown to accustom to the magic door opening to welcome me upon my arrival you see, but somewhere back in the dark corners of my brain I could hear a small voice saying 'push'.
