Published by Nichole on 11 August 2008.Given my love of English and writing, I was slightly horrified this morning to learn that British professor, Dr. Ken Smith, has proposed that university teachers should accept ‘variant' spellings for commonly misspelt words. (Yes, misspelt is right, misspelled is American, thank you dictionary.)
Thair jocking rite?? Rite?? If ppl cant rite the words and reconize the correct spelling then how will thay beable 2 read them? Iz an entire jenerashun of illitterite ppl wut we want 4 the future? Wudnt this b serius regreshun?? Fonetics is great 2 a certin extent but mayb b4 we all bcome completly mentaly lazee thay shud think about the long term Affects this cud hav. Or mayb some one wants 2 see how stoopid we can bcom.
